POSITION TITLE: Parent/Youth Promotora
DEPARTMENT: Central Valley
COMPENSATION: $23.47/Hour or $24.09/hour with bilingual differential
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Parent/Youth Promotora will be instrumental in providing support to parents and clients of different School Districts within Central Valley, focusing on Social Emotional learning skills within these various school districts. The Parent/Youth Promotora will work closely with the Staff Therapists in assigned programs. They will provide support to the schools and communities within Central Valley, which can include daily operations such as planning and facilitating workshops, providing case management with families, and supporting parent advocacy. This individual will support family and clients of the assigned program, including attending various meetings, following up with emails and calls, advocacy support, and other duties as assigned. This role will uphold and champion the agency’s mission, vision, and values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Lived Experience with mental health challenges, homelessness, and/or substance use recovery preferred (self or family member).
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating excellent critical thinking skills and professional judgement.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements of the position and be timely in meeting all requirements for work performance. Proficiency using Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in an independent environment.
- Ability to learn web-based platforms (e.g., Salesforce) with appropriate training provided
- Non-Profit and Community Based Organization experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrates and models excellent “customer service” orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.
- Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed.
- Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.
