Administrative Assistant [South Africa]


 

Our client operates as a wholesaler in the sports equipment industry and is seeking a full-time administrative assistant to join their team.

The suitable candidate for the position would possess a tertiary qualification (such as a degree or diploma) in the relevant field of operations or administration, as well as two to three years of pertinent work experience.

Familiarity with software programs such as Pastel, Excel, and Word is preferable. Additionally, the employee should have their own means of transportation.

The ideal new employee should possess the following attributes:

  • Fluency in both Afrikaans and English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on given instructions.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage Reception area.
  • Manage office supplies & consumables.
  • Support the Operations manager with:
  • Managing e-mail and telephone orders (capture, invoice, and dispatch)
  • General admin for key accounts
  • Monitoring of credit limits
  • Dispatch of orders & liaising with couriers
  • Customer after sales service
  • Handling customer credits
  • Support the Admin Manager with:
  • General filing
  • Creditor/debtor control
  • Financial month end & year end
  • VAT submissions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R10,000.00 - R13,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

  • Driver's license (Required)
